Group Piano Lessons in New York - Kids & Adults

Every student has different goals. Some want to master one piano piece to proudly share with friends. Others aim to explore a broader range of music and improve their reading skills. Some focus on preparing a select few pieces for performance, such as a recital, while others work toward formal assessments like the ABRSM exams.

Each student follows their own pathway.

Summer Term 2025

• Duration: June 2 to August 22, 2025 with prorated pricing discount for each past date & class cancellation by the studio.
• Booking: Open
• No Classes:
  • June 30, July 1-6 (Mon-Sun): July 4th weekend
• Fees: There are a few options to pay for the classes: pay per class "1-class/drop-in ticket"($50/class); pay per term "course ticket" ($37.50/class); book multiple classes in a single day – stack them back-to-back or spread them out with "16-classes summer pass ($32/class)” or "8-classes summer pass ($45/class)”.

• Group Piano for kids ages 5+ and 8+:
  • Monday 3:25pm, 4:15pm
  • Tuesday 3:30pm, 4:20pm, 5:10pm

• Group Piano for adults:
  • Monday 6:15pm, 7:05pm
  • Tuesday 6:35pm, 7:25pm

Fall Term 2025

• Duration: September 4 to December 20, 2025 with prorated pricing discount for each past date & class cancellation by the studio.
• Booking: Open
• No Classes:
  • October 13, 2025 (Monday) - Italian Heritage/Indigenous Peoples' Day, schools closed
  • November 26-30 (Wednesday-Sunday) - Thanksgiving Recess, schools closed
• Fees: There are a few options to pay for the classes: pay per class "1-class/drop-in ticket" ($50/class); or pay per term "course ticket" ($38.50/class).

• Group Piano for kids ages 5+ and 8+:
  • Monday 3:25pm, 4:15pm
  • Tuesday 4:00pm (new teacher, TBD)
  • Wednesday 4:30pm
  • Thursday 4:35pm
  • Saturday 8:25am

• Group Piano for adults:
  • Monday 6:15pm, 7:05pm

2026 Piano Recital: TBA

2025 Piano Recital: The piano recital will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 4:15 PM at Steinway Hall, NYC. Guest arrival time is 3:45 PM. Performers will receive a Certificate of Performance from Steinway Hall, presented by Jennifer Chiaramonte, and the event concludes with a group photo. Enroll in the group or individual piano course by January 31, 2025, and remain enrolled through the recital date to participate.

You’re welcome to enroll anytime—each student progresses at their own pace. There’s no pressure to move ahead or stay behind; if you need more time on a particular lesson in tour book, we’ll take that time. Everyone learns differently, and our group setting allows space for individual growth within a supportive classroom environment.

At the end of each class, students also have the opportunity to perform for one another. It’s a fun and encouraging way to build confidence and celebrate each other’s progress.

• About the ABRSM Piano Examination - The minimum requirement for a student to prepare for an examination is ABRSM Initial Level proficiency or the ability to fluently read and play music on the grand staff.

Starting September 1, 2025, you will be paying $38.50/45-minutes class if you purchase a course ticket.

Use the discount code ILOVEGROUPPIANO at checkout after adding a ‘1-class/drop-in ticket' to your basket. The code is valid for a ‘1-class/drop-in ticket’ per single booker email. If booking for 2 or more students, use a different email for each student to activate the code. Each student is limited to one (1) introductory class. 

Books will be provided at the studio on your first class.

The class capacity is 5 students at maximum. Students attend a 45-minutes class.

Make-up classes (up to 2 classes) for missed Group Piano classes are available until the last day of the course. If you miss your scheduled class, students have the option to transfer their ticket to another class date before the end of the course. Note: Missed make-up classes are non-transferable to another course. To request a ticket transfer, please email pianobudsinapod@gmail.com.

You may either drop off the student or wait in the classroom, following these rules:

Creating a sound-free learning space is our top priority, as students learn to play the piano through attentive listening.

You are welcome to wait inside the classroom; however:

• Silence is mandatory for the entire duration of the class.
• Any noise, including talking, disrupts the class and is not permitted.
• If disturbances continue, you will be asked to leave immediately and wait outside the classroom.
• Due to class size, the green rug is reserved for students to do their theory work, group activities, and participate as the “audience” during performance sessions. Please remain seated either on the wooden bench or on the blue rug by the door.
• No strollers are allowed inside the classroom:
  • At the concierge desk, ask for Piano Bud’s designated stroller parking space.
  • The concierge will direct you to the stroller parking space at the concierge desk or the community hall, where there are security cameras at the entry doors, on the same level.
  • Take your valuables with you.
  • Take the elevator to Floor 1, at Suite 101, and attend the class.

Alexandra Minoza is a professional pianist, a Steinway Teacher & Educational Partner, and holds a Master of Music in Advanced Performance (Piano) from the Royal College of Music in London, where she was awarded the Polani Award scholarship, a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Piano) from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in the National University of Singapore, where she was awarded a full-scholarship sponsored by Singtel. Please note that all refund requests must be made in writing to the studio administration within the specified timeframes outlined in this policy. Refunds will be processed within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 15 working days of the request being received to your original payment method.
