Books will be provided at the studio on your first class.

A: Yes! We offer a one-time trial introductory piano class for $40 for new students. Trial classes may be booked up to 6 days in advance, subject to availability. Use the discount code ILOVEGROUPPIANO at checkout after adding a 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket to your basket. The code is valid for one (1) 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket per booker email. If booking for 2 or more students, use a different email for each student to activate the code. Each student is limited to one (1) introductory class. Misuse of this code is not permitted and will lead to immediate cancellation of the booking.

A: Our studio is equipped with 5 digital pianos and 1 acoustic grand piano, providing every student with a hands-on learning experience in every class.

A: Yes. Students are required to purchase the books recommended by their teacher. View the selection of required books here.

A: For new students, books will be available at the studio during the first class while the teacher determines the most appropriate method book for the student’s learning needs. View the selection of required books here.

A: Yes and no. Each student follows an individualized learning pathway using Alfred’s Piano Books and progresses through the lesson units at their own pace. However, there may be weeks when all students are assigned the same piece, ensemble activity, music theory exercise, or musical game to encourage collaborative learning and musicianship. This balance allows students to receive individualized instruction while enjoying the benefits of learning together in a group setting.

A: Students may learn a favorite piano piece, improve music reading skills, prepare for recitals, or work toward formal examinations such as the ABRSM piano exams.

A: Recital enrollment is now closed, as the maximum capacity has been reached. The Piano Buds In A Pod Recital was held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Steinway Hall, 1133 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10036. Recital participation is optional, subject to availability, and is open to students enrolled in a Full-Course Enrollment for the Spring Term (January 12–June 21, 2026) in either Group Piano or Individual Piano courses.

The next recital date will be announced by January 2027.

A: Yes. Group Piano is a drop-off class without caregiver participation.

A: Yes. One parent or caregiver may observe from the designated waiting area for the duration of the class. By booking a class, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to our Policies and Procedures.

A: Parents and caregivers must remain seated on the designated bench or the small rug near the entrance. The green animal rug is reserved exclusively for students. By booking a class, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to our Policies and Procedures.

A: Remaining outside the students’ peripheral view helps students stay focused while taking turns at the grand piano. By booking a class, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to our Policies and Procedures.

A: No. Silence is required throughout the class to provide a focused learning environment. Parents who are unable to remain quiet may be asked to wait outside. By booking a class, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to our Policies and Procedures.

A: Creating a sound-free learning environment is essential because students learn to play the piano through attentive listening.

A: No. Strollers are not permitted inside the classroom.

A: Please ask the concierge for Piano Buds in a Pod’s designated stroller parking area. The concierge will direct you to the designated location.

A: No. Please take all valuables with you before attending class.

A: Enrollment is confirmed only upon advance booking and full payment of the applicable class or course fees.

A: After completing your booking, you will receive two separate emails: a Stripe payment receipt confirming your payment and a Bookwhen booking confirmation with your class details. Both emails include the same booking reference number. 

A: Please read and agree to our Policies and Procedures before booking a class. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the studio administration within the timeframes outlined in the policy. To request a refund, please email pianobudsinapod@gmail.com. Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 15 working days of receiving your request.

A: If you miss a class, email pianobudsinapod@gmail.com to request a make-up class code for your 1-Class/Drop-In Ticket, if eligible.

A: Yes. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to transfer a class within your course period. Eligible students may receive a 100% discount code to rebook, subject to availability.

A: Up to 3 make-up classes are permitted per course, subject to availability, and may be used for Group Piano classes and must be scheduled on dates covered by an active course enrollment.

A: No. Students who do not provide at least 24 hours’ notice and do not attend their scheduled class are not eligible for a make-up class.

A: Piano Buds in a Pod follows NYC Public Schools weather-related closures. Make-up classes, refunds, credits, or extensions are not provided for weather-related cancellations.

A: Email pianobudsinapod@gmail.com to request a make-up class code. Misuse of discount codes will result in their cancellation.

A: If you know in advance that you will miss specific dates, you may choose to book on a pay-per-class (1-Class ticket) basis instead of enrolling in the full course. Weekly pay-per-class bookings open 6 days before each class and close 24 hours before the scheduled class time.
